31 BRAND-NEW DARK FANTASY HORROR STORIES. Bloody corridors of ancient rock. A castle surrounded by poisonous thorns. A lost temple of traps and corpses. A subaqueous cave at the bottom of a cursed lake. These are the places where secrets are buried, where ancient evils are summoned, where beasts are imprisoned, where the insane lie in wait. These are tombs of darkness and nightmare, where if you stare into the abyss, the abyss will stare back. Heed the warnings of your elders and return from whence you came. Ahead lie monster lairs.

Engaging and Impactful

Because I tend to read anthologies very slowly, a story here and a story there, I'll update both my rating and review as I read each of the stories because otherwise I'll lose notes for what I liked about each one and never end up reviewing at all. I'd rather offer something partial than nothing at all.Story 1: Has Someone Ever Dared to Scream? by Victor FornaAlready worth the purchase, just for this story. At first I didn't understand what "lair" it was about, but then it dawned on me that the space many monsters thrive in is secrecy. When that realization hit me, I got chills and my hair stood up on end. This story was a powerful portrayal of what happens when atrocities are overlooked and illustrates the power of a brave voice shattering the silence.
